HOUSING MOVING CHECKLIST Moving can seem like a huge task, but it’s just a matter of organization and small details. Therefore, try to start planning your move 30 days in advance. You’ll be surprised at how things will go! To help you move, Transfarense has put together the following checklist to guide you:
CHECKLIST 4 to 6 weeks before moving. Make an inventory. Decide what you will and will not move. Ask for a quote for your move. Transfarense has specialized technicians at your disposal to help you find the right solution. . Decide what you will do with the things you do not want to move. You can donate them to charities or store them. Transfarense offers a Self Storage service. Contact us! . Purchase packing materials. Transfarense provides packing kits at your disposal. Contact us! . Make the necessary contacts to discontinue certain services, such as: newspaper subscriptions, water, electricity, gas, cable TV, telephone, etc. The week before moving . Reduce the frozen foods in your refrigerator and/or freezer to a minimum. Defrost the refrigerator and/or freezer. Find another place for frozen food. Take the opportunity to put curtains, rugs and duvets in the laundry room. Check that the cleaning of your new home will be finished the day before you move in. www.transfarense.com .For the day of your move Check that the cleaning of your new home is finished and that you are ready to move in. Remember to set aside the items you will need on the day of your move, such as: ▪ Documents relating to the new home. ▪ Access codes to enter the building. ▪ Garage remote control. ▪ At least two copies of the keys to the new home. Check that you have your inventory of your move. When leaving your old home, take a final walk around the house and don't forget to check that: ▪ The windows are closed. ▪ The cupboards are empty. ▪ The storage room is empty. ▪ The electricity panel is turned off. ▪ The gas and water meters are turned off. ▪ The door is locked. ▪ If you left furniture or other items for the new owner, check that everything is as agreed. If you left the refrigerator or freezer, you should leave them with the doors open to avoid unpleasant smells. Don't forget that... You will always have to change the following documents: citizen card, driving license, vehicle ownership registration, voter card and passport.
